Laser Cutting of Plastics
Pacific West has a complete laser cutting service for thermoplastics. Laser cutting provides accuracy to plus/minus 0.1mm and gives the designer the versatility of laser cutting complicated patterns from flat plastic sheet like polycarbonate and perspex sheets. When we laser cut acrylics, the edge is polished by the laser cutting process, leaving a very smooth finish.
Lasers have been used in Australia for over 20 years to cut plastics and provide a clean accurate and polished job in both the engineering plastics and product display fields.
Laser cut plastics are used widely for cutting complicated shapes that easily fit together and can be glued with our custom plastic adhesives in the Acri Bond range.
Acri Bond 5 and 10 are the most common plastic adhesive products for use with both laser cut plastics and plastic fabrication projects (perspex displays).
We can laser cut acrylic sheet up to 40mm thickness, as well as a number of other substrates. For materials that can’t be cut with a laser, such as PVC, we provide a complete router cutting service.
